Elmiron lawsuits are claiming that the prolonged use of the prescription drug causes serious injuries of maculopathy that may lead to blindness.
Janssen Pharmaceuticals is a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. The company currently manufactures and distributes more than 52 different types of medical related drugs in the United States. The bladder pain drug Elmiron has affected many patients with experiencing vision complications.
Elmiron lawsuits filed against Janssen Pharmaceuticals claim the drug causes a severe eye disorder known as retinal maculopathy and other retina related conditions that can possibly cause blindness.
Lawsuit claims accuse Janssen Pharmaceuticals for the failure to inform patients and medical professionals with the associated complications of prescribing Elmiron.

Elmiron, also known as the generic name pentosan polysulfate sodium is used to coat a protection layer around the bladder wall to prevent harmful substances in the urine to affect the body.
Elmiron is also a blood thinner that will prevent blood clots from forming. Most patients have used the drug to help with bladder complications and other pains, such as interstitial cystitis.
Patients need to know the high risks involved with consuming Elmiron.
